HDTV Antenna - Attic installation

Has anyone installed one in the attic and split the signal out to the TVs in their house? I am looking for antenna recommendations and any advice from those who have made the switch.

google antenna web. it'll tell you how far you are and what direction the stations are.
i would try this first LINK /
i have one in my attic it works well. you don't need the reflectors unless you signal is weak. i don't have the reflectors on mine.
I also have a medium sized directional antenna too. i run it to a powered splitter. with the powered devices make sure you can tweak the gain. a signal that is to powerful will not sure up on your tv, just as a signal that is not powerful enough.

I have the regular leaf and ran a cable that I had to the attic. It works much better now. No problems with network tv.

Why are you putting an antenna IN your attic? Why not outside?

I put this Terk antenna in my attic Terk TV55
I mounted it on an antenna motor something like this one LINK
I mounted the motor on the ceiling joists and put the antenna as high as I could connecting it to the motor with a hurricane fence post. With the motor I can turn the antenna 360deg from my couch.

Most neighborhoods don't allow them outside

It's been 12 yrs. ago that I put the large, outdoor aerial in the attic laying it flat on the rafters. Works great.

Made my own Gray-Hoverman antenna for the attic. Works great.
Ran me maybe $20.
Just google for DIY plans.

I can't get a watchable digital signal except for PBS from my location (around Highland/ I-10). Am I doing something wrong or am I just too far away?

why not just get basic...bottom of the rung...Cox?

Had one of these in my attic at my old house. It worked better than I thought it would.

I have Satellite. The antenna is a backup for storms and hurricanes, and I have a jack in my garage for my TV out there.

I put mine in the attic. Wonderful signal, though I don't have it split.
