I was able to watch all three games of the series against the black bears. The pitching staff really deserves the credit for the series win IMO.

A. Nola was off slightly and was still superb.
J. Broussard extended his pitch count and without his effort we don't win game 1. P. Bugg was excellent when we needed him in game 1 and 3.
J. Poche battled his arse off as he always does in a losing effort in game 2.
A. Cartwright really set the tone today for the pitching staff and didn't look the least bit intimidated by the moment.
H. Devall steps in and follows the lead of A. Cartwright.
K. McCune closes the series out knowing J. Broussard wasn't available.

Alan Dunn has to get much of the credit of the way these young men took it to the black bears this weekend. That man needs a pay raise!

Agree, looks like pitching is starting to come together, and if the bats get hot at the right time, we can make a decent run in the post season...

yeah, he gave up two earned runs and only struck out seven yet it felt as though he wasn't at his best. How amazing is that kid?

He is simply the GOAT of LSU pitching.

Couldn't agree more. The pitching staff was outstanding against a very good hitting team.

My question: is Cartwright now the Sunday starter?

Dunn is getting paid a quality number, I assure you. But, I'd pay the man whatever he wanted as long as he stays. A pitching coach of his caliber is a necessity in this day and age of college baseball.

Good pitching this weekend. I really wish Fury could turn it around.

I actually thought about doing that but wanted to give credit to the young men who have to execute the pitches on the mound.

What about next season with the new ball? Is the new ball similar to MLB? If so, Dunn might end up elsewhere, coaching his own team.

Anyone think so?

Why don't you make a prediction about it.

I thought the new one was more like the ball used in the minors. And I'll just consider us lucky each season we get to keep Dunn.

I think Dunn leaves LSU in two seasons to coach another team in the SEC.

If he does I will be the first to wish him well. Please don't derail this thread, I wanted to give the young men the credit for the way they competed against a good team on the road in this series.

Thankfully for us there isn't any SEC with a head coach on the hot seat, so we should be fine.

I am really excited to see who we can get on campus of all these stud pitchers we have signed. Just landed 3-4 of them and we will be nasty.

If only PM would follow his own example when got rid of Grewe for Dunn and do the same with Javi Sanchez...how good would this team really be?
