Hickory Crawdads

There's a minor league baseball team in North Carolina named the Crawdads. How is this so? Do they have crawfish?

man, there are crawfish just about the world over. outside of Louisiana (in the states) most are just the ones that dig their holes in the ground and there aren't that many. it's the Acadians that had them in abundance and learned how good they were to eat.

It's my hometown team, and yes we have crawdads in the creeks up here

Yes, you can find crawfish in mountain streams in North Carolina. Hickory's in the foothills.
