Have a big crawfish boil going on tomorrow. I have heard of people putting eggs in the boil and hard boiling them. We are going to give it a try, and are looking for some tips.

So are you asking how to boil an egg?

Keep silent over there, Bob. He's asking how long to boil them, what to expect, etc.

Wouldn't it be better to boil it ahead of time and then throw it in peeled toward the end of the boil?

If my memory serves me, we cracked them in after we turned off the burner. Came out pretty well.

That would get a no vote from me very quickly, a waste of eggs unless you have plans for making some deviled eggs(there is a cookbook I have seen devoted to that one item alone) which have many variations.

I've never boiled an egg. I don't like eggs. I only cook eggs for my son every morning because he likes eggs.

Can anyone assist the OP on this issue? Is it a good idea or no?

Boiling eggs with crawfish sounds a little too white trash

the flavor doesn't soak through. Kepp to putting high end hot dogs and brussle sprouts in for that "wow" factor.

I thought the same thing, but the OP is going to be the POTUS one day. I was wondering what I was missing.
