Has the draft moving back hurt anymore more than Bridgewater?

Former Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater’s draft stock has appeared to decline dramatically in recent weeks, as a disappointing Pro Day has led to talk that he’s not the potential No. 1 overall pick that he was proclaimed to be during the 2013 season. But one NFL personnel man says that in reality, Bridgewater’s stock was never that high to begin with.
Mark Dominik, the former Buccaneers general manager who now serves as an analyst for ESPN, said on NFL Live that he doesn’t believe Bridgewater’s Pro Day is a problem so much as his skinny frame, as well as the fact that Bridgewater didn’t always look like an elite passer on tape.
“There were things you saw on tape when you watched him,” Dominik said. “Something that scouts internally, we talked about it in Tampa with Teddy Bridgewater last year. Is he really the premiere quarterback? I like the young man, I think he’s a quality individual, he’s got character and leadership and those things. But this is a quarterback, and you’re judged by what quarterback you draft, and I think Teddy Bridgewater might not have all the pieces you’re looking for.
Of course do you take him at his word, I mean this went as GM, the Buccaneers went 28-52 with only one winning season and no playoff appearances. On December 30, 2013, Dominik was fired along with head coach Greg Schiano following a 4-12 season.

One of Dominik's more notable signings happened when he re-signed the Buccaneers 2004 first round draft choice, Michael Clayton, to a 5-year, $25 million contract in early 2009. Clayton was cut by the Bucs after the 2009 season and only caught two more passes in the NFL afterwards. He has been out of football since 2011.
Also drafted Freeman and Glennon

He would have been drafted higher if he was allowed to enter the draft last year. The Florida game was most of his hype.

The draft moving back is dreadful.

They need to make the NFL Draft happen sooner after the season ends, not later. Dragging it out for so long causes teams to overthink the whole deal and it gives the players who are drafted not enough time to learn the system and prepare for training camp. The draft ought to be a couple of weeks after free agent signings happen -- early April.

I doubt the draft moving back has affected his stock much. Teams probably did most of their research and decided where he falls long before his pro day and this "decline" ... He may be declining on analyst boards and mocks but if Nfl teams think he isn't a top 10 player then he's probably had a low grade for months already

Pro Day and subsequent works outs since haven't helped

So how does that have anything to do with the draft moving back two weeks?

Logically moving it back makes sense...it keeps your league in the news for just about every month of the year
But i dont think they accounted for diminishing returns on their draft coverage. I dont even watch sports tv or listen to sports radio anymore and even i am worn out on all the draft coverage there is with no payoff yet. I mean theres still like a whole nother month for Kiper and McShay to throw out garbage mock drafts for the cycle to use for 72 hours
I love the draft. Give me the draft. Give me it now.

You sure about that? One QB taken in last years first round and teams would have figured out Teddy doesn't have the arm to throw a deep out whether it's during this years scouting process or last years.
Same thing with Barkley, everyone yammers about how he would have been the #1 pick if he came out a year early. Not saying he goes 3rd round but the guy has never had a good deep ball and Marquise Lee made him look real good.

Anthony Barr says hey

No-NFL personnel have stated many times that he has never been a first round grade and it's all media hyping him.

He would have been on the same amount of workouts last year

Not true, he has 2 extra weeks to work out for teams now.... So we don't know... Last years draft would start next weekend if they kept it the same
Posted on 4/18/14 at 5:30 pm to tduecen
They didn't allow the teams more visits though. Same amount as last year.

Sounds like all of the big hype Qb's stock has fallen.
And the kid from Eastern/Western Illanoy is moving up peoples charts. I read where some of the top10 teams who need a Qb are debating on whether to trade down to take him late in 1st or move up in 2nd round to take him Immediately and avoid all of these candidates.
Not sure how much is truth or bs, but i know some of the QB desperate teams are liking this kid. Grapalo i think his name is.
