I'm on record many times here.

His defense is not good. It's not going to get better. He doesn't put in the effort to make it better.

And I still don't give a shite. Keep dropping 30/7/8 ish on the reg, the big guys will take care of the rest.

how is this acceptable? he could be on lebron/kobe level if he wasn't a lazy arse on defense.

that is the difference between championship and not

and he does play better D going down the stretch in important games. but he doesnt give forth the effort most of the time b/c he is relied upon so much for his O. and it dont make a shite, he is a beast regardless. keep doin what ur doin beard.

Just getting that out of the way.

I don't understand why people continue to use this cockamamie lame arse excuse to why he doesn't play defense.

He doesn't play defense because he doesn't play defense. There are tons and tons of elite offensive players that plays both ways.

It's less about it being acceptable, and more about being what was available. We went from the stinkhole (9th seed every year), to having two all stars and home courta advantage in a 2 year period...without having to tank! And we still have the 2nd or 3rd youngest team in the league.

Dwight and Harden were what was available. Are the perfect, no? But we also didn't have to suffer through years of absolute garbage to draft a young superstar that may or may not blossom. Pels luckily got their man when they sucked, but that is not always the case.

Not to mention, we are still either a trade, or one year, away from having cap sapce for another star. It's a good place to be, so you take the good with the bad.

That's dumb. Basketball is a sport where you have to play offense and defense simultaneously. His lack of effort on defense takes away from what he does on offense..there's no getting around that.

my point is...if he put in the effort on defense, it would likely result in a finals appearance if not a finals win.

Basketball defense 101:
ball - you - man

Harden defensive philosophy:
Ball- .... - man

well, maybe those "Tons" of players are a bit better than harden?

not sure why other teams fans are so concerned about it for, its actually pretty amusing.

Don't act like it wouldn't help the team if gmtzf about defense.

there are not many players better than harden...if he played defense, he would be top 3 in the league

Gyno posted an individual defensive fg% stat on here not long ago and harden actually held his opponents to a lower fg% than Lebron.

Harden is like the Randy Moss of the NBA. He will take some plays off but locks it up when he needs to.

And Randy Moss couldn't get a ring even with the Patriots.

I imagine lebron is routinely guarding the beet player on the opposing team.

I think someone rolling around in a wheelchair can pump fake James Harden.
