Another day, another story about people being devastated by Obamacaid.

Margaret Figueroa is a woman who by all accounts has done the right things.
She has maintained private insurance all her life. She paid for her policies diligently. Obamacare ended those policies. She did due diligence on her new Obamacare policy. She was told "if you like you doctor, you can keep your doctor."
It was a lie.

Now Margaret Figueroa is left with a chronic condition, in need of chronic treatment. She cannot access treatment with Obamacare. She cannot even get renewed prescriptions. She is screwed. Obama couldn't care less. In fact, arguably this is the result he wants.

The promise that Obamacare was "better than" Margaret Figueroa's old coverage" was a lie . . . as is Obama"care".

The cruelest fact of Obama"care" is, Obama doesn't care. Unless Obama is held responsible, he couldn't care less, and he is not being held responsible. The Obamacare press conference yesterday was conducted with NorthKorean-level intellectual curiosity. Obama picked questioners from a preprinted page. They asked what seemed to be prearranged questions. It was despicable.

Meanwhile the regurgitated cud otherwise known as Obamacare Coverage (aka Obamacaid) continues to put patients in EXACT POSITION Obama claims his mother was in. Obamacare patients are left with conditions they've received care for previously. Now they cannot access care even though they are trying to do the right thing by paying for coverage.

Difference between Obamacare Victims and Stanely Ann Dunham being, Dunham wanted hers for free. Obamacare Victims expect nothing of the sort. They want to pay, and are promised they'll receive what they've paid for. Dunham did not pay. She did not want to pay. Instead, she went uninsured. Then, when she got sick, she could not access care (at least per Obama's dubious claims).

The folks Obama is screwing have paid for insurance. Obama could not care less. The irony is thick. He only cares about the politics, and the press cares so deeply for its socialist messiah that any political penalty is drastically mitigated.

Arden Heights woman with chronic illnesses says Obamacare left her without doctors and medication
By Tracey Porpora
April 16, 2014

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- After receiving her new health coverage in January through the New York State of Health Marketplace, Arden Heights resident Margaret Figueroa, 49, who suffers from two chronic illnesses, went to her pharmacy to fill her prescriptions.

Although her insurance company, EmblemHealth, assured her she was covered, her insurance card was denied.
While she had signed up for new health coverage -- because her insurance carrier dropped her old plan -- the company's internal paperwork apparently wasn't filed.

She also learned that all her long-time doctors didn't accept the new insurance plan.

For Ms. Figueroa, who suffers from a rare neurological disease called Arnold Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia, this has led to three months of excruciating pain, withdrawal symptoms and immobility.

"It's hard," said Ms. Figueroa, through her tears Wednesday at a press conference at Rep. Michael Grimm's (R-Staten Island/Brooklyn) New Dorp office.

"I have been in pain. I've been vomiting. I lost 22 pounds. The pain is unbearable. My medication helps me function during the day," added Ms. Figueroa, who has undergone four brain surgeries for her conditions, which require her to take numerous amounts of medication.

After intervention by Grimm's office, Ms. Figueroa was able to obtain some of her prescriptions on April 1 for which she had refills

So Grimm is a republican. I don't know why I would have assumed a Staten Island representative would have been a dem. Good for him for getting involved.

See, it all worked out. Just wait until more healthy people "opt in". Obamacare will be cheaper and better according to some of the poster here.

If we have to sacrifice one in order to gain more votes, it is worth the sacrifice.

Seriously though, when those refills run out, she's done.

Very sad.

Staten Island votes R, more that likely it is viewed as knocking off the opposition...

Let's see if Staten Island congressman Michael Grimm has the stones to defend Obama's law.
You mean, let's see if Grimm has the stones to break Obama in half, like a boy, and throw him off the Capital Rotunda balcony.

Yes it is. Cancer patients are finding out that some of their drugs are no longer covered. According to Obama it's working. Why does Obama not want people to get life saving drugs?

Yea, What you said. I just revised my post. My mistake for assuming his political affiliation without reading the entire article.

Underhanded way of skirting the "death panel" moniker?

factcheck.org is propaganda and your injection of their publication here does nothing to rebut Ms. Figueroa's claims

maybe you should fly up to Staten Island and call her a liar to her face

As on of the only Family physicians in my entire county that is taking patients with one of the Obamacare insurance plans, let me reassure you this type of pt abandonment and care refusal is happening at an alarming rate.

I have been part of a clinical trial for the past six months - That trial will end in another month.

I am concerned how much, or if, my insurance will cover these meds if I have to continue them. They cost 90K a year. I still have my original insurance so I am not worried unless they are forced to drop it by the economic realities.

Yep, if you have Obamacare, you'll pay, but will struggle on every level to find care. Don't blame the Docs, they are plenty busy, and are bogged down with red tape; electronic records, etc. They don't want to lose anymore control to the Gov't, and ain't touching this...Many will just walk away...There's a huge cost, coming down the pipe, when you lose bodies and will. Gov't has about beat them down with lower reimbursement, and increased paperwork, computer interactions..
