I had Photoshop CS4 Extended on my desktop here at work for creating different things business and personal related. We got hit with the Windows XP no support deal so we are upgrading all desktops in the building. I have a new PC but need to reload Photoshop. The problem is this, I no longer have the installation disk but I do have the serial number. I have an Adobe Online user profile and it shows my product is registered but there is no way that I see to download it.

Is there a way I can download a free trial of this software and then activate it using the serial number or am I just crap out of luck on being able to get it back?

If they still had it, yes, you could. But they don't have any trials past cs6 anymore. But call them, they maybe could help you out. They we're very helpful with the issue I had a few months ago.

Contact Adobe or "locate" an image file and make a new disc.

If those don't work you might be able to find a used disc from ebay or something similar.

I think I might have stumbled upon a CS4 download on the adobe site that says I can activate using my serial number. Going to try it out.

If you get Adobe to answer the phone, post it here, because I tried to activate one of my licenses on a new laptop I purchased and deactivate another and it was a total lost cause.

I'm hoping what I am trying now works because my other option will be using an old copy of photoshop 7. It's alright but I like CS4 a lot better.

You should be fine. The platform is all the same - except for the serial.

So I found a link to download older Photoshop versions on Adobe.com. Found a link for CS4 and downloaded. Came back up to work this morning because it was still downloading when I left work yesterday. Installed it, license key worked and now I'm set back up with Photoshop CS4.

Just upgrade to PS-CC via the cloud, and it's only like $10 a month.
