BS

He killed a squirrel in his own yard. Then....

quote:

“As the investigation progressed the officers seized several firearms from the home for safe keeping,” Officer Jeffrey Nielsen said in a press release. “That included the assault riffle and the three high capacity magazine he did not have registered.”

To reiterate, police confiscated “several” of the man’s other firearms, even though Nielsen admitted the majority of them were registered and legal.

Toigo will not get his guns back until his case is heard. Depending on the outcome of the case, he will then have to petition the police department to get his firearms back.

Guilty until proven innocent.
A felon not allowed to have possession of a gun (even though the charge is a misdemeanor).

What if they decide they don't want to give him is property back..... or that they have "misplaced" it?

I know you're joking, but if LEOs came into your home in a state like Connecticut where you must register certain guns/mags and you have them even if you claim you lost them, you're still violating the local statutes.

They would need a reason to come into my dwelling and then they would have to find them. Assuming anything survived the fire and I actually had them in said dwelling.

I understand all of that, but merely just reporting the lost/stolen isn't the solution for this guy.

Yup. He should have had the "evil illegal" stuff hidden better. Still, they took all his legal guns.

Exactly. It said even if innocent he has to petition the police to get his property back.

The moment this happens is the moment I am no longer a free man and all bets are off.

when it comes to "LEOs" coming into my home uninvited, some "LEOs" aren't going to make it home at the end of their shift

It's sad we're at this point in a once great country.
They will gradually chip away at our rights at a slow pace...
Too fast and we revolt.
Perfect speed and we gradually accept it.
