Is this what passes as "cooking" still? Sounds like something an 80 year old woman from Poplarville would make.

I guess the common sense of picking up a box of cake mix and a can of peaches and throwing them in a baking pan was too taxing.

Well if I go that route I'll use the premade.

When I want to make one quickly, I go with the Cup/Cup/Cup recipe. Cup of flour, sugar, and milk. Stir it all up in whatever you're baking it in. Fresh peaches are the best, but if you don't have those you can get a can of sliced or diced, and drain the juice. Dump that in the middle and give it a quick stir, then bake at 350 or 375 until it is done.

I guess some choose to contribute while others take a different path.

We are not talking Chinese Checkers here. It would be much better from scratch.

@ Vlad
I can cook just about anything, but baking is a struggle for me.

About 6-8 fresh peaches (frozen is 2nd best, then canned)
1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar
pinch of cinnamon
2tsp flour
Box of 2 premade (not precooked- the ones that are still rolled up)

-mix all dry ingredients with peaches and dump into 9x13 pan
-Cover with both pie crusts- there will be some overlap in the middle
-Pinch the edges down tight
-Bake in a 325 oven for 45 minutes

This isn't the exact recipe that we use, but I think it's pretty close. Very easy, and really tasty.

I've done this with blueberries, too, and it's even better
