My kids watch this show named Uncle Grandpa. I thought it was really odd humor but I guess that is just a next generation thing. Then I got to thinking about the nature of that relationship. I sat stumped for 15 minutes trying to figure out if it is possible to have an Uncle Grandpa. Then it hit me. If your mom slept with her brother and you had a kid with your mom, your child would have an Uncle Grandpa.

Or if your grandpa died before you were born and your great uncle became your acting grandfather knowing that you didn't have one.

I wouldn't let my kids watch that.

Hell the kids can't even watch SpongeBob.

It's better to expose them to this shite early than try to shelter them. They're gonna learn about it one way or another. Might as well be at home.

I was watching the Sopranos when I was in middle school

It isn't the content as much as the attitudes..We do the same with Disney, etc. If it isn't something we can watch a few episodes together, and agree that its decent, they don't watch it.

It's been a long time since we've had Sponge Bob on at our house. My son has outgrown it and my little girl is just not into it. What about the attitudes was objectionable to you? Was there something offensive or something that you didn't want your kids exposed to?

The previews seem to always portray them as whiny idiots. It's a little crude and exceptionally stupid. I really do mean that the story lines are lacking in intelligence. I'm not sheltering their viewing, at all, but I am retaining the right to limit their viewing to things that actually require a bit of intelligence to watch and don't discourage independent thought.

My son watches Uncle Grandpa and it seems a bit off to me, is Uncle Grandpa suppose to be mentally retarded or something?
