Twenty-four years after Goodson's remarkable athletic journey began, a feisty point guard who shot the Bulldogs to the 2009 Sweet 16 and an intriguing defensive back who collected an interception in the 2014 Fiesta Bowl faces his ultimate crossroads.
Eleven healthy games, 26 tackles, 13 pass deflections, three interceptions for 63 return yards and an increasingly strong 2013-14 season finally captured what Goodson's father, Few and Briles saw in their personal athletic projects: the high school defensive back turned Gonzaga point guard turned Baylor cornerback always has been able to play serious ball.
"He really bought in to the program, even with his setbacks and his shortcomings," said Baylor's Cyril Richardson, who's projected to be one of the first guards taken in the draft. "He's a solid competitor, and he's a great athlete, too. If you watch him, you'll see a great person on the field."
Nice Story
6'0"
200 lbs
Nickname is "Meech"... Older brother, Mike, played running back for Carolina Panthers, Oakland Raiders and New York Jets.
BIO
---Interdasting. Instead of forwards to TE, let's try a point guard to CB. The skills transitions are similarly complementary. We know the Saints like the good bloodlines. DrafTek lists him as the #33 CB & #281 overall.
A point on the visits: players they bring in they are usually interested in. The whole smoke n mirrors on this is overstated IMO. I contend these are more often however, players they are interested in but need or want more follow up or detail on. That is- players of interest but that you still have questions about. There are plenty of players they might target but are confident about their rating and have no need to bring them in.

Dude looks like he's got some long arms.
edt: and if he's a PG he's probably got good arm speed too.

Combine Analysis
STRENGTHS Excellent size. Good athletic ability, hand-eye coordination and ball production. Can turn and run vertical. Nice plant-and-drive -- breaks on throws. Has some upside. Comes from an athletic family and has NFL bloodlines.
WEAKNESSES Concerning durability issues -- injury ended his season in 2011 (ankle) and '12 (arm) and cost him games in '13 (arm). Has short arms and small hands. Relatively inexperienced with green instincts. Press technique needs to be coached up. Loses separation at the break point. Limited tackle production -- gets stuck on blocks and doesn’t set a hard edge. Will be a 25-year-old rookie.
BOTTOM LINE An injury prone hoopster-turned-cornerback, Goodson is a height-weight-speed prospect who shows in flashes when he’s able to rely on his reactionary skills and natural athleticism to break up throws. However, he is overaged and relatively raw. He must distinguish himself at the combine to elevate his stock. Will get an extended look thanks to the increased demand for bigger corners.

The thing that i like about these guys who only play 2 years oor so of college football is that they can have top 5 potential but everyone stays away from them in the draft because they are "Raw". I hope that we draft him late

Dallas and the Saints are going to battling it out draft time to draft Demetri Goodson. This kid will be in the Pro-bowl in the next four years.

Serious question: Are you a Baylor fan and/or related to or know Goodson personally?

Cool, no worries.
Just thought it was random that you bumped a 2 week old thread and to make such a bold prediction about a potential UDFA.

Yea until he develops a consistant jumpshot he'll probably stay a udfa. Maybe have to play overseas.
