What are everyone's thoughts on him this season? I'm hoping with Cam we start utilizing our tight ends more. I know he had a great career at Barbe and I saw he caught a touchdown during the spring game but we've heard in the past we would use our tight ends more and just haven't. With Jarvis and Odell gone I hope our qb looks to the TE more. What will make him special? Is it speed? Good hands? Just curious what the consensus is on him.

I'm curious also of what people think he brings to the table. How good is he. I would be happy if he is can be any where near as good as that freshman TE Bama has, OJ Howard. Maybe Smith is more of a wideout or H back than an actual TE. But I hope he gets utilized in some form this season along with Dickson and Gordon.

If we do not start using the TE in the passing game then we will burn any hope of getting any more top drawer recruits at that spot...
I thought last year was going to be the breakout for the TE position. They threw like 11 passes to TE's in the Spring Game last year - go figure.

Cam has stated that we will have to rely on backs and tight ends more in the passing game this year. He basically said last season was an anomaly due to essentially having two NFL WR's on the outside.

During the spring game the TEs and backs accounted for 14+ catches. Only 6 or 7 were from WRs

False. We haven't had play from TEs since 07 and every year we get them.

He'll be great, right now next to Dural, he has the best hands on offense, maybe the best. TEs were open last year, just not thrown to. Getting a setup of Desean, Dural, Dupre, Quinn, Fournette, on the field at the same time, insures having a great set of hands.
