Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Rep. Steve Israel called Republican voters racist Sunday. He is the fourth senior Democrat to call the GOP racist in the past week.

His comments were prompted by CNN host Candy Crowley asking if he agreed with top Democrats attacking Republicans as racist in the previous week. “To a significant extent, the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism,” Israel said on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“That’s unfortunate,” he added.

To supporters of this, intellectually.. how do you condone this from your leadership? Is there such lack of substance on your party's platform or so bad of a platform with the legislation that passed under Dem leadership, that your leaders can't discuss that?

Yep. Expect the kicking and screaming rhetoric from the Dems to amp up significantly. They're gonna try to scare the ignorant side of their base so they'll turn out to vote. "If the GOP takes back the Senate then blacks will be put back on the plantation"

We joke about it, but I do have a legitimate fear of the epidemic among American voters known as ignorance.

I love how elitist white people are usually the first ones to cry racism...and especially when they make blanket statements about an entire group of people.

The dishonesty is FIRST and the Liberalism is second. That's what gets lost here on all these topics.

This would drive an honest person mad. An ideological liberal has no qualms about it. It's in the psychological DNA.

I'll take lack of substance for 1,000.00, Alex.

"To supporters of this intellectually".....
There's nothing intellectual about this.
It's racism, pure and simple.

"Dey's gunna putchy'all back in chains".
Noted intellectual, Joe Biden.

They're desperate and therefore showing who they really are: divisive, petty, dishonest fearmongers.

Easy. They agree with it. At least the tactic.

lack of substance

Not relevant when dealing with people whose whole arguments are driven by emotion rather than logic. Nor is it relevant with the people who buy into those arguments.
