Doesn't seem like he's even close to me.

Good well rounded player but I think Chuck is overreacting here.

First of all, nearly everything Chuck says is a troll.

Secondly, I think Kawhi is criminally underrated by the average fan, and is definitely one of the best and most versatile at his position.

Don't really care about where he ranks on some arbitrary list, though. All I know is he's a consummate Spur, and that's more than enough for me.

It's Chuck. Of course he is inflating his rank.

Def. Versatile, I said well rounded but I don't think he's in a top 10-15 discussion.

Lebron
Durant
Paul
Griffin
Curry
Harden
Howard
Melo
Westbrook
Cousins
Wade
Rondo
Love
Wall
Aldridge
George
Lillard
Irving
Nowitzki
M. Gasol

20 off the top of my head who are clearly better and I really don't think it's debatable. Leonard is a nice player though. The list was in no particular order

I don't really care about arbitrary rankings, like I said.

His value to SA is off the charts, though. Just look at their record this season when he's in the lineup, especially since he's been back from injury.

Consider the system.

So he doesn't score 25 ppg, but he rebounds, defends, shoots a high percentage from 3 and field

He may not be a top-20 player, but he's 100% a top 30-35 player.

Yeah def. One of the most versatile defenders in the NBA. Poses a challenge for Lebron.

Some of those players, it's absolutely debatable.

He's the closest thing we've had to Bruce Bowen in terms of defensive acumen on the perimeter since #12 retired.

The best part about Leonard, though, is he's on a team and in a system that's giving him time to blossom into a great two-way player. Pop has done well not to rush his development, although I'm sure it's probably tempting.

So, no, KL probably won't be on many non-Spurs fans' top 15 lists, but his value and upside is crucial to San Antonio's success, IMO.

Kawhi Leonard, Matt Bonner, and Austin Daye for Anthony Davis.

Straight up.

Don't take that as a knock on KL. I think he's an excellent player, almost a prototypical Popovich guy. If his offensive output can improve, he'll definitely be up there. He's only 22-23 right?

I've always imagined what could have been for the Pacers if they never trade for Hill.

Stephenson, George and Leonard -- good luck scoring on that perimeter defense.

Only 22 yrs old. If he'd score more he'd get more recognition. I think he's the franchise player at this point. SA needs to add more young talent the next couple years.

Why?

They're the best team in the NBA -- their current plan is just fine.

I don't think we'll really know just how good Kawhi is until the Parker/Duncan/Ginoboli starts to fade out. Right now, those guys seem to have found some magic age medicine.
