I just toss'em in live. Sometimes he just kills them for sport and leaves them there though. You can see the bruising where the fang hit.

I really detest snake owners. They own those things strictly for the thrill of feeding live animals to it.
You are an idiot. I keep snakes and don't feed them live food ever. Any snake that will eat at all in captivity can be weaned onto prekilled prey items. I get frozen mice and rats that are humanely gassed from frozenrodent dot com.
There is no benefit to feeding live prey and it can actually be risky for the snake. Responsible snake owners don't feed live food.
I'll add that I didn't click the link.

Have to disagree with you here. I've had many snakes that wouldn't eat dead food. Eating from forceps may be routine for the typical docile pet shop snakes (like ball pythons and such), but I've always kept wild-caught snakes. Their eating habits tend to vary. I can guarantee you're not getting my rattlesnake to eat unless it's alive. He won't even eat if you're in the same room. I'm an animal lover, but I could not care less if the mice are "humanely" gassed. Snakes gotta eat, and no one humanely kills their food in the wild. You're either predator or prey. (Insert "deal with it" gif here).

Does this apply to and/or tarantulas?

I've gotten many wild caught hots from people in the past that just wouldn't eat frozen thawed according to previous owners. I got all of them to eat frozen thawed. I'm talking several copperheads, pigmies, timbers, and diamondbacks. Sometimes I have to trick them one way or the other, but I've never failed.
Eta: I'd bet 10 grand I could get your pigmy to eat prekilled.
I never collect anymore (never did much anyway) and I'm steadily pairing down the collection.

I can respect that, and I definitely see the benefits if you're feeding full size mice or rats in particular - they can certainly inflict damage. In cases where the food is highly unlikely to cause any harm, I prefer live food though.
