I know you use a shotgun, but what kind (gauge)?

I've never shot skeet. Been invited, don't know what to bring.

If you're shooting for a long time, an auto will be easier on your shoulder.

I prefer to shoot 28 gauge because it is much more challenging to shoot skeet with. I generally end up shooting with my Remington 1100 12 gauge. Using a 12 gauge makes it very easy.

12 is overkill for almost everything you will ever do with a shotgun other than some waterfowl, turkeys, and deer.

Stand at the back of a skeet shoot and watch people getting beat to death with a 12 while shooting clays and you will agree the 20 is superior.

Just my opinion.

Shooting 12ga with low brass target load beats you to death?? c'mon man. Its not bad at all. My SO is 5'2 105lbs and can handle it with ease.

Shooting slug is a different story. I prefer carrying a 20ga with a a 20" slug barrel in the woods over a 12ga any day of the week. The 20ga is lighter and has much less recoil than the 12ga when shooting slug.

I'm surprised everyone is saying 12. I prefer a 20.

I'm not anti-12 by any means, just think the 20 will do almost everything needed with a better handling gun and less recoil.

I was 12 for everything for a looong time, but went to 20 and 28 recently and have enjoyed the difference.
