Why exactly? They limped to the finish line with their 3 year starter at QB.

Was surprised they didn't make the list. Don't know what they have to be honest, but in a preseason projection by ESPN I thought they'd be on there.

If Dak stays healthy, Miss State will finish top 20, possibly higher. Schedule lines up well for them.

Right? I mean, they've won a conference title once a decade for the last 12 decades! Should be top 3, imo.

Saban

Wait. Is he a game manager and any decent qb could do what he did? Or is he a vital asset that the team is trouble without? I can never remember.

Anyways, Saban has won 2 titles at Bama with first-year starting QB's. One of those was a ginger named Greg McElroy. They even had an undefeated season with something called a John Parker Wilson.

In summation, Saban.

Preseason polls suck, but UF will be in the 20-25 range. Whether it is justifiable or not.

The only thing working against Alabama is the law of averages. They've been through new QB's, young O-lines, young secondaries, and they still are near the top.

Damn you, Alabama.

In grad school here, so I have a vested interest, but Bama is still my team.

Wins:
SoMiss
UAB
South Alabama
Kentucky
Arkansas
TN-Martin
Vanderbilt

Losses:
LSU
Alabama

Toss-Ups:
Auburn
TAMU
Ole Miss

Even only winning one of the toss-ups will give an 8 win season.
