Whats that ringtailed fox or dog type animal in Tx and mexico?

Friend showed me a game cam pic and said it was from Mississippi and I couldnt remember the name of it

Not a dog, but we do have ocelots which are pretty cool

dont laugh at me. I could only remember a legit ring tailed animal and when I googled 'ring tailed cat of texas" i didnt get any answers that were right

I didn't think they were in Texas. I know they are in some parts of Mexico, but they are more prevalent in South America.

See my post above about the coatimundi. They do get up into Texas and southern Arizona. Also, there is a Ring-tailed cat in Texas.

This game cam pic doesn't really look like either of those. Might just be a house cat. I had been drinking when he showed me the pic the other night. He did say that it was photographed on game cams on other surrounding properties so it travels a lot.

That just looks like a house cat. I've never heard of an ocelot in the wild in the U.S.

At the risk of sounding like the black panther spotters of La, I believe my buddy and I saw one one night spotlighting a long time ago. We got a pretty good look at it, it was just sitting in the middle of one of our food plots. The county our ranch is in borders a lot the green counties of this map in South Texas so I guess its possible...but not probable.
