Saw a pet pig on a leash this weekend that was charming as frick. Thinking of getting one. Also debated a single hen since we'd at least get some eggs. Thoughts OT?

Tough choice. Both sound delicious.

Pigs are as smart as most dogs, chickens are basically mindless. So pig

buddy had a pot belly at his house (50 acres) for a long time and it was a great pet. Moped around the property minding its own business and would eat all the scraps

Having a pet chicken sounds terrible. Not sure I could ever have an emotional attachment to a chicken. At least pigs are supposedly as smart as dogs, can even be house-trained, etc.

Chickens are fun, I used to have 4. The only problem is that they will shite everywhere....and double that in the places you don't want them to. If you get chickens, get at least 3. Little known fact is that they are very social animals.

Chicken is barely an odd pet anymore these days. I know several people in the city limits with chickens

i would go with pig because my cat might like the chicken a little bit too much

I would say pig because it's more suitable for indoors.
to the others, who cares what animal is smarter? he isnt asking for a service animal

pot belly pig. They actually make really good pets and you can train them to sniff for truffles.
