Its basically a satellite that can cheaply and quickly change orbits. It can deliver payloads and even carry humans. It has many uses, some of which can deliver much death.

Looks like the Moonraker from James Bond.

Spoiler Alert
I think it's actually an X-36A in disguise!

and a big improvement over the original red and white X1

Something tells me that it will be used more for surveillance/strikes, then for carrying humans.

Definitely definitely
Innovation abound
Do you know when I first was looking at X-14C they only came in black or white? Those were the only choices.
Glad we're past those days.

It's got a robotic arm (at least that's what they tell us). I can only imagine what it's capable of doing up there.

I've never even heard of this thing.
How did you see it this morning if it's orbiting? How do you know thats what you saw?

I think the primary intent was to test new technology in space to see how it works. The 3 different orbits have increased in length dramatically. IMO, they are testing out different technologies for the eventual sending of a similarly equipped vehicle to deep space.
For reference, Orbit 1 was 224 days. Orbit 2 was 469 days. Orbit 3 passed 470 some time last month. So, it appears that they are trying to have certain technologies last for a real long time in orbit
In addition, they're probably using it for other deeds: satellite tracking, surveillance, etc.

I meant to say in the news. Edited. You can however see it at night (first hour or 2 so after sunset)if it passes over your area. Looks like any other satellite. There are people that track it so you know which satellite you are looking at is the X-37B.
