He should stay there a little longer now since they showed him a little undue loyalty.

"After an extensive review of the situation and extenuating circumstances, we determined that Mr. Masiello executed poor judgment but did not intentionally misrepresent himself in applying to the college. After participating in graduation ceremonies at the University of Kentucky, he enrolled in summer courses with the intention of completing his degree, but never followed through to make sure that the degree was awarded," Manhattan president Brennan O'Donnell said in the statement.

LOL what? He didn't make sure he had actually graduated?

What BS. He's just a good coach so they want him.

What does him having a degree have to do with his ability to coach basketball?

For many universities they require a masters degree to coach their programs

Their explanation is BS, but I understand why a small school like Manhattan wants to keep a successful coach who doesn't seem to have any other issues than needing to take 3 classes in the summer.

I wonder if he feels like he owes them and will stay for a few more years now.

Probably not.

Gonna be awkward talking to his players who he wanted to leave.

Can him. Everybody knows MAAC jobs are stepping stones but he made Manhattan look stupid when he inadvertently exposed that they didn't do their due diligence.

It's actually fairly common. Universities let students walk even if they don't have all the credits for a variety of reasons. And then the number of those students who, for whatever reason, don't finish their courses is higher than one might think.

Sure, his coaching ability is why they chose to retain him. But I don't see anything wrong with it, provided he actually finishes.
