I'm at a bar and they have the 12 year and the 18 year which should I get?

The reason I ask is because the best bourbon I've ever had is Pappys. That's my go to. The 20 year Pappy is by far the best. So I don't want to get the more expensive one just because it's more expensive if it's not not the best.

It is dude. I've had each year Pappys multiple times. The 12 is consistently the best everytime.

wow ok...

The 12 year is not one of the Pappy van Winkle bourbons. It is Old Rip Van Winkle 10 yr, 12 yr Lot B, and the Family Reserve Rye. The 15, 20, and 23 are the only Pappy Van Winkle bourbons. Dude

and i'm not even going to waste my time with "ive had every year and the 12 is the best every time"

We are trying to figure out if the single pot still Pappy or the vatted malt Pappy is best.

This is why you dont post drunk in a bar asking questions.

I was talking about the 20 yr. My brain put the 12 in there from the scoth questions.

And the only reason i brought up bourbon in a scotch thread is because thr 20 year pappy is by far the best however if you didnt know anything about bourbon you might order the 23 year since it's the most expensive.

Since I'm not realluy a scotch guy i wanted to know if the 18 is worth the price from someone who nkows their shite.

ETA:
Anyway. I got the 12 Macallan and it's delicious. Might try the 18 later in the week.

Why even ask? Just try them both and see for yourself. Macallan is one of my favorite scotches. The 25 is sublime.

If you really plan to enjoy the Scotch, get the 18. It has a very different taste than the 12. If you're just drinking (as in planning on having several) unless its the first of the day/night, just get the 12.
