Fished the north flats in Henderson after the storm Friday and did pretty well. Bass were pretty active after the storm in clear water around muddy runoff spots and the sacs were on the banks. If there was a slot I would've had to throw all my bass back. Nothing big...all 15"-17". Sacs were all nice size though.

I fished that exact bait (white fluke) last weekend without a bite! Wish I could've done some fishing this weekend. Stupid work

I thought that water was pretty rough for kayak fishing? Also that's a long paddle right? About a 10-15 minute boat ride correct

From where? I guess if you put in at Magee's or Kern's or something it would be a long paddle. I put in on the levee in the north pits. Not too far of a paddle from there.
eta: to be more specific, the north flats is a huge area. It's basically everything west of patin and north of little phillips.

White and shad flukes, watermelon senko, chrome rattle trap were what the bass wanted.
Roadrunner with blue/white tube and white hair jigs for the sacs.

Forgive my basin newb question. But can you just pull up anywhere along the levee, park, and put the yak in? I assume none of that is private land?

It's frowned upon.
IOW, everybody does it.

The time I've gone to the flats in Henderson I put in under the interstate.

on the west side levee north of I-10 there's several places you can put a yak in...
