quote:

Cleveland will offer one this summer and Kyrie Irving will sign it. He’s making $5.6 million this year, the first year of his extension will be north of $14 million (we don’t know the exact figures, it would be 25 percent of the salary cap that year). You sign that deal because it is “set your family up for generations” money. Everyone signs it — LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard and maybe next Kevin Love forced their way out of situations, but they signed that extension and played a few more years under it first.

quote:

The truth is [Kyrie’s] camp has been putting out there for years – years – that he doesn’t want to be in Cleveland. That they don’t want him in Cleveland. He doesn’t like Mike Brown. He didn’t like Chris Grant. He doesn’t like Dion Waiters. He’s already gotten a General Manager fired. He might get Mike Brown fired. This is the last time – once he signs he loses all of his leverage – so this is the last time he gets to enact leverage. I know he’s said all the right things so, fine, on July 1, when they offer a max contract – which they will – and I don’t even know if he’s a max player, but you have to sign him – sign a five year, no out.

Going to take a wild guess at the teams on his short list he wants to be traded to.

Knicks
Nets
Lakers
Clippers

Prima donna gonna prima donna. Nothing new here.

Its amazing how bad they still are. Since 2011, they have had 6 1st round picks. 2 of those were the #1overall pick, and they had 2 #4 overall picks. And still are a dumpster fire.

Prima donna? Would YOU want to live and play in Cleveland?

Since when does Windhorst cover the Cavs? He road LBJ's coattails all the way to Miami and now all of a sudden he's an expert on what the Cavs are doing? Take what he says with a grain of salt.

Cleveland is such an ugly city. I don't see anything wrong with him wanting to leave once he plays out his contract. Its no different from the real world taking a job where you don't want to be, than moving on once you find a situation that suits you better.

The winters there are terrible. You really have to experience it to fully grasp what a crap hole it is.

Ill play wherever they want me to if im getting paid like Irving is / will be.

And its not just that he wants out of Cleveland that makes him a prima donna. According to some of his teammates, they dont like playing with him, he gets away with a lot more than other players do (not playing hard, bad D, dumb play, etc and coaches dont say anything), and talks behind peoples backs to certain guys in the locker room.

The team is divided because Kyrie makes it divided.

well yea.

And I said its not just about playing in Cleveland that makes Irvin a prima donna. He was a prima donna before this.

The point I was making is each time a player kicks and screams his way out of a team he doesn't want to be on anymore, those players always seem to only want to be traded to teams in the largest media markets like NY or LA
