Hit play on a live or extended ballad and they're good for 16 minutes...

Tough job to operate all that modern equipment...

My ex-gf is a morning dj and she doesn't make all that much.
Around 25 base, plus commissions from those live feeds around town. Like the 4-6 giveaways at the car dealerships and stuff.

With 98.1 it's more like 10 minutes of commercials for every 4 minutes of songs.

And they play the same 20 songs every day all day.
If any of them post here - Your playlist sucks.

Scotty Drake has got to take a piss sometime.

They actually call long songs like Stairway "pissers".

I worked at country stations, so we didn't have any of those 16 minute songs, but I could do damn near anything in 4 minutes or less.
And most announcers make shite. Sales is where the money is.

How much less than what?
I'm sure Scotty Drake and Darren Gauthier make enough. Darren Gauthier is the program detector. That probably is decent.
Dan Day probably doesn't make shite.

I don't listen to Eagle 98.1 anymore. Too damn many commercials and music is getting crappier and crappier.
Too many better choices these days.

Way better audio quality than XM.

I've brought it up numerous times with their DJs.
They agree.
However, they run little surveys of what people want to hear, and every time the people say "The same thing. Don't change."
It's sad really.

Stopped listening to 95.7 because of that and the Nick Carter show after 6pm. 96.3 is where it's at in New Orleans now

I used to be one back in the day. The songs you looked to play for comfortable bathroom breaks were Stairway to Heaven (about 11 mins 36 seconds I think), Hotel California (either 6m36s or 6m54s), and a John Cougar song that doubled up the next song for a total of 9 minutes and 54 seconds.

Their music has changed considerably in the last 6-8 months. They're playing 90's alt/rock now, and they no longer herald themselves as a "Classic Rock" station. Now they just call themselves Baton Rouge's "Rock" station...and the home of LSU Sports...
So, the playlist has been expanded, but it's still that same expanded playlist everyday.
