Well guys thought I would add to the thread that we started the other night.

I followed up and got a quote through Eastern Insurance (recommended in the thread). After pricing out insurance through Marine policies and a few other options the Eastern Policy is damn near too good to be true.

I just signed up 40K in coverage for $125/year $100 deductible, with 5% off for NSSA or NRA membership. I don't know how that can be beat. I can't remember which of you suggested Eastern Insurance, but we should all give them business at those rates.

Do you have to provide serial #'s or photos of the insured firearms? What does the policy cover?

Whats the application process like? Tell them what you have or just pick a total $$$ amount you want covered? I will be doing this over the next week.

I think it depends on the agent and underwriter. Ive seen polices with scheduled items that just say "shotgun $1500" and Ive seen full descriptions and photos with appraisals or receipts.

However, the more info you have to give them on file helps when you have a claim in the future

When I applied a couple of years ago, they asked for some serial numbers but did not require all. There is a minimum amount of insurance they sell, it was $35k a couple of years ago, it might be $40k now.

This is to confirm that we have placed our comprehensive coverage for your fine
collection of Collectible Firearms in The Historic Firearms and Collectibles Insurance
Program. Your policy will include the Unscheduled Blanket Collectibles Limit of
$35,000.00 where no single item will exceed $10,000.00 in value.
Due to your property location, Flood Coverage is excluded.

Just curious as my collection is getting pretty valuable at least IMO. I probably should have an insurance policy on just my firearms since my homeowners policy probably doesn't have enough money dedicated to firearms to even replace one of them. I think the average home owners policy only covers $500-1000

They didn't require serial numbers or photos. I have a couple of guns close to the 10K cap for appraisal however I valued them at 9K, didn't ask any questions. When I called to speak with them the guy was very knowledgeable about guns asked me about my model 21, and my F class guns. Seems like they are for real, however still worried it's too good to be true, but for the low cost don't see how I can go wrong.

I got the review from them a couple years ago from another board with people with many high end guns. They came highly recommended and those that had claims said that they were handled quickly and fairly...

I was impressed with them asked for a few things in writing before signing on and they were very helpful. Guy says he relies on word of mouth referral, so here I am.

Wick was pretty sure it was you that recommended it all, thanks again! If I was high-tech enough to do the cheers thing I would.

Are you sure they are covering your guns? I'm usaa as well. I haven't talked to them in a while about policies but at one time they would not cover that high on guns. I heard this from others as well, which is weird considering the clientele.

Link?

I would also like to check this out. My current insurance policy covers $2500 but that's what 3-4 of my guns are worth what about the rest of my hoard.
