The Green Slime in our waters

First encountered it at Cane River. Went years before seeing it anywhere else. Now I find it in TB, Indian Creek, Spring Bayou and Saline. What is it and how/why is it spreading?

take a few pieces and throw it in there.

hydrilla has ruined many a lake here in Florida
