In other words, are you optimistic or pessimistic about your political views carrying the day?

I would venture to say pessimist.

Recent elections (presidential) have proven the ignorance of the American Public

Sadly, pessimistic.

I have no faith in the American populace.

They seem to be a distracted, stupid people.

I am an ultimate cynic when it comes to politics, but I legitimately think that this is a transformative time in American politics. I really think that brighter days may indeed really be around the corner, maybe, just possibly, probably not.

Pessimist because the media controls the narrative in this country and the media is just another propaganda arm of the dems.

Plus women are more likely to believe media sensationalism, which is why there is such a big gender gap in voting these days.

Pessimistic. Politicians can claim to be one thing, but end up doing another.

There's really no logical reason to be a political optimist.

I'm a pessimist.

On this board... I'm surprised no one said suicidal!

Personally, I'm a political pessimist. There's too much centralized power. We have an aristocracy and I do not see this changing without a return to the basic principles of our Constitution. We need term limits.

Pessimist, but it's an odd question. If some of the ones answering "pessimist" in this thread were optimists, I'd be even more pessimistic...

I'm as pessimistic as they come. Politicians will never be the solution to the ills of man.

Depends in what regards. Domestic issues, pessimist. In regards to international trade and investment which is one thing I'm interested in, the American government has done loads to enforce free trade and lessen investment restrictions across the globe over the past 60 years. But outside of that, not really any optimism.

Pessimist. In addition to the reasons listed I would add that most people vote their pocketbook. The politicians know it and just pick the money from the money tree.

Satisfaction today. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

If I was a U.S. Senator I would be known as Senator Tiger (P-Louisiana). Our population has been dumbed down, and bought off, beyond rescue.

i'm a realist, which, sadly, is slightly worse than being pessimistic.
