At least they have a B team competing right below La Liga. I'm assuming they can move players up frmo there, if needed.

I've seen people say that, but no source. some have mentioned an appeal will push back the date it begins.

if they can buy this summer, you'd have to imagine they're going to go nuts.

if they can't, they're fricked at GK. would almost have to give valdes a godfather offer to stay.

I don't doubt that an appeal could change the timeline, but it wouldn't make sense for FIFA to intentionally give them a window prior to the ban

The ban is for summer 2014 and for winter 2015...

Yes, those deals they have in place are just that, they wouldn't be official until they are "approved" during the summer transfer window...

I take it to mean those deals are off, unless everyone is willing to wait a year..

it seemed like some were acting like the discipline is on hold during appeal a la MLB. but i haven't seen any article or explanation saying that.

did Pep pull a Pete Carroll and bail before sanctions?

Bayern should hijack that Halilovic deal.

Wish the Worldwide Leader took a greater interest in soccer, so that I could hear about how this will affect Pep's legacy 24/7

Barca have 90 days to fix the situation/make an appeal. I can see this being delayed long enough to throw off the timeline and allow Barca to complete the already agreed upon deals.

The main rule that Barca violated is that the parents of non-EU youth prospects have to move with them and you have to prove the parents aren't moving for football reasons. Yea fricking right, like they just happen to be moving for work to the same city that their kid got signed to, and that was the reason they are moving, not because of the kid. That's pretty horseshite.

Not really, and I think that they're fairly loose with it even when investigating it, because a certain young American wasn't implicated.
