That said, the NFL did take issue with at least one element in the script: when angry Browns fans hang Costner’s character in effigy. The league nixed that.

“I thought it was a real funny moment, but I think the NFL’s really cracking down on fan behavior both inside the stadium and outside,” Costner said. “The idea of hanging somebody, for as funny as I thought it was, and as realistic as I thought it was, it was just an image that I didn’t want in the movie. That was a small price for us to pay, but it shows that they were watching very closely.

I don't doubt that at all.

As much as I want this film to be awesome, I fear it will be terrible. It just has "unwatchable" written all over it.

It looks pretty cheesy. Then again, I thought that about Moneyball before watching it and was dead wrong.

Moneyball had some serious people involved with it. Aaron Sorkin worked on the screenplay. The guy who directed Capote not that long ago directed it. Brad Pitt.

Ivan Reitman is the director

He hasn't been funny since Ghostbusters, and he hasn't been funny without Bill Murray in his movies.

What was the last "good" movie he has made? Kindergarten Cop? And I'm using the term "good" extremely liberally.

This film is such blatant NFL advertising it's sad. Even more so that they are cutting scenes out.

This movie being PG-13 is all I need to know about it being mostly fluff.

I'm surprised this wasn't a Roger Goodell production. That being said, it won't get a dime from me.
