Is there any other industry where it is commonplace for a guy with only a high school degree to be making above 100,000/200,00/300,000 dollars?

If this isn't the most damning evidence for the economic atrocities that unions have brought upon their membership, I don't know what is.

Thoughts?

What proof do you have that the workers would not be earing more with unions?

I have no direct proof. Such evidence is impossible.

Would you assert that there is no pay ceiling associated with being a union worker?

Can you name any unionized industry that pays it's workers as well?

Probably the same "proof" you have that unionized workers would be earning less without them.

What do airline pilots earn?

I can't think of any that don't involve high skill levels or certifications.

Ok. Give us examples of union employees with comparable jobs/skills/experience with equal or greater incomes.

I have experience with working in union shops and non-union shops and the latter earns at least three dollars more per hour easily.

O&G workers probably only benefit from a union if there's safety concerns due to shortcuts being taken.

Not sure what kind of money they make but everyone on the OT makes $100k+ which seems good.

Not equal in skills or education and training. These are highschool educated welders and shite making as much or more than airline pilots. Think about that.

I know oilfield roughnecks making $150-200k up there. And they routinely make >$100k working offshore.

I believe the pay of both NFL players and oilfield welders is commensurate with the value of their skills, with neither being significantly correlated to their membership in a union or not.

In other words, I basically agree with you (I think).

Yeah, but roughnecks are humanity's elite.

They'll be the ones chosen to carry out a highly technical, dangerous one-shot space mission to save the planet.

Officers on ships(gulf of mexico, blue water) make 6 figures. Some of the captains for the OSV ships in the gulf are making 1k+ per day. Depending on where youre willing to work, they can make some serious bank. Older guy I know was offered a job on a boat as a chief engineer that would be in and out of the North Sea and some very harsh condition areas. It was paying $2200/day.

shite a deckhand on a inland tugboat can make 50k/year and only work 6 months out of that year.

Everyone on the OT also runs a 4.6 40 or better, under a 6 minute mile, and only hooks up with chicks AT LEAST of the quality of that whale Kate Upton.

But yeah...oil and gas industry provides good, high paying jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans without dependence of Mother Government. That drives the Left insane.

Exactly!!! The people I know are right out of school with no experience and no skills. Some have just basic oilfield skills making $150-200k. So they'd be on par with the deckhands making 50k/yr. I don't know their hourly rates, but they also get per diems for room and board while there and travel expenses.
