Why wouldnt Michigan call a T.O. when catching the ball at half court?

with 1 sec left?? Stauskus clearly had a full second when he shot it from half court. I dont get why teams just waste away a T.O. like this all the time.

Should have had someone signaling time out before he even had possession IMO.

Design the play to get at least halfway down court.

On another note, should the NCAA move the balll to half court after a TO like the NBA?

yea but a catch and shoot inbounded 3 would put you on the line for 3 shots if they want to foul

No, that's a ridiculous rule.

No they wouldn't have. With 2 seconds? That's pretty much a catch and shoot. You foul and there's probably a 90% chance it'll be in the shooting motion and it's going to send them to the line for 3

Uk should have fouled dead ball. I don't think it's shots and the ball in college.

they should make a rule that for fouling on a dead ball under 1 minute, it should be a Tech with 2 FT's and the ball back at halfcourt. I bet teams wouldnt do that cheap arse shite.

Of course it does. There would be way more game winning drives if calling a time out moved the ball to the 50 in football, too. It doesn't make it less stupid.

It's not as different as you want it to be. Why should the ball be moved half way up the court just because the losing team needs it?

It would be pretty difficult with 1 second left to get a guy open on an in-bounds play to the point where he can catch and shoot without dribbling at all.

The only time it works really well is when some guys on your team hold defenders so that your guy can get open on a catch and shoot and hope the refs don't call a foul.
