So when UNLV won the title in 1990 did that mean the Big West was the best league?

Just because the top of the league is good doesn't mean the entire league is good

IMO, the NCAA tournament comes down to who is the hottest team at that time. Not necessarily the best.

Sometimes. But the overall #1 seed is still alive

I did this thread, people don't like it.

SEC has more NCs in basketball than the Big 10, Big 12 and Pac 12 combined the last 15 years.

That's why the SEC gets 1, 8 and 11 seeds. And the Big 12 gets 7 teams in.

The rest of the league literally got shite on in the NIT
The SEC was 4-1 after 5 NIT games. Who knows what those teams would have done in the NCAA-T. Surely couldn't be worse than the Big 12 than got 7 teams in.

Big 12 had one top level team that lost its main interior player during the regular season, an above average team that lost one of its main players during the tournament, and then 5 above average teams that no one really thought was going to make any kind of NCAA run.

The SEC has been kind of shite on by the committee since 2009.

I'm just saying that you never know until the SEC can get some of it's bubble teams in. They don't because the conference "isn't good".

What the SEC does get, this year for example, the #1, then an 8 and an 11 (with a play in game to boot). Those teams have gone 11-1 with a loss by the #11 seed by 2 points in the Sweet 16.

I always concede the SEC is top heavy, but holy shite if the SEC got 5-6 teams in and see what they would do.

It's not top-heavy in football. The SEC has more "elite" teams at the top of their conference than other conferences. Those elite teams are generally better than elite teams in other conferences. AND, the mediocre teams in the SEC are better than the mediocre teams in other conferences.

If you go down the list 1 vs. 1, 2 vs. 2, 3 vs. 3, etc. comparing the SEC #1,#2, #3, etc to any other conference's #1, #2, #3, etc, the SEC wins the match-up in almost every game.

Glad that Big 12 fans had their arrogant mouths shut by their pathetic tournament showing. Only 6 wins with 7 teams while the SEC's 3 teams win 11 games. Talk about embarrassing.
