Kind of sounds like he is feeling the pressure of being the team leader.

quote:

Randy Rosetta ?@RandyRosetta 8m
Struggling offensively, #LSU SS Alex Bregman (@ABREG_1) will not be available for media interviews for a 'week or two' per spokesman.

Randy Rosetta ?@RandyRosetta 4m
As media savvy and media friendly as #LSU's Paul Mainieri is, I can't imagine this was a decision/request reached without a ton of thought.

Or he's trying new methods to get out of his hitting slump.

Well he doesn't have to hear reporters constantly asking him about hitting.

Kind of a bitch move. He talked a lot about being the team leader and all that in the preseason, well facing the media is part of being the most visible player on the team.

Also, this charade just brings more unnecessary attention to himself.

normally i would agree but frick the media...the dude is 19 years old and in college. imo, it is much different than a professional athlete.

plus, how much media coverage do the baseball players really face?

could it be that he wants to focus more on the game and the team instead of randy rosetta? Talking to the media has NOTHING to do with being a leader.

Fat Chicks is a better method. We need a bus load of them dropped of behind the bleachers in left......

He had no problem doing interviews last season as an 18 year old.

Well then why won't he do the few interview then?

...it kind of does.

That's what I think it is. If he can get more quality hits he may start a trend. Right now, do whatever it takes.

how does it? would you rather a talking head for the media or someone who leads in the club house/dugout??

he did plenty last year but he also wasn't in the spot light...much different situation

A team leader represents the team to the masses.

No, he was definitely in the spotlight, it was just a positive one.
