Is there anywhere to go kill a bird around Baton Rouge? Or are all WMAs lottery?

They almost all lottery, and very few birds killed after lottery. Not really worth any efforts

Look north, MS has lots and lots of public shooting ground and a lot more turkeys than LA

I can't do MS as I don't have a license there.

You want money in your account or a turkey in your truck? That's the question you need to ask yourself.

How much do you hunt? I think they have a 7 day permit if you don't want the license.

And their licenses are good for 12 months so if you bought one now you could still use it for deer season if you wanted to.

Crock of shite. 6 Bird have been shot on 30,000 acre this season. Season closed anyway. Before flood they would have killed 60-80 bird in there, and have 4 day open season non lottery

Look hand Ill be honest, LA turkey hunting isnt anything to scream about compared to MS and Alabama. Look at overall population in our neighbor states. You may spend lots of money/time trying to kill a bird around BR when you would be much better of going where the turkeys are.

Tell me about it. I spent over 18 hrs in Sherburne last weekend for a lottery and covered a ton of ground. I heard one gobble the entire time.

There will be another guy on your bird. That's one of the reasons I gave up. I admit i did not try all that hard to find empty places, but I did try a little.
