A federal appeals court has ruled that Kansas can strip Planned Parenthood of federal family planning money.

A divided court in Denver on Tuesday overturned a judge's order that forced Kansas to keep funding Planned Parenthood's clinics in Wichita in Hays.

...

The appeals court rejected Planned Parenthood's claims that losing the money amounted to a violation of free-speech rights for associating with abortion providers.

Good news or Kansasians. Pro-life or pro-choice you should be pretty glad that your tax dollars are not going to a shady organization like Planned Abortionhood.

DS, do you really think that "underprivileged" or "under-educated" women don't know that fricking leads to pregnancies and can lead to STDs?

This statement is really ironic when you consider why planned parenthood was founded in the 1st place

Don't they get sex ed in public schools? My kids do, although they were taught it by me before the school did.

But you know Planned Parenthood is about abortion and not sex ed. That's the issue, abortion. The state just doesn't want to participate in baby killings. Very understandable.

Well, out of wedlock birthrates speak to the exquisite success of that concept.

At issue is money distributed under a federally financed family planning program. A Kansas law requires the state to first allocate the Title X money to public health departments and hospitals, leaving no funds for the Planned Parenthood clinics.

The clinics in question don't provide abortions. The only Planned Parenthood clinic that provides abortions in Kansas is in the Kansas City area.

This would be a valid comment if money were not fungible. But as everyone knows, cash is fungible.

Not sure where your coming from. I am for welfare who actually need it and will use responsibly until they find a job.

I'm personally pro life and really think abortion is murder.

However, if I were a politician, I wouldn't touch it.

Oh hi.

Is this the thread where we come to oppress poor women for daring to want access to medical care that they can afford.

Cause I am so in!
