I do like VII quite a bit, but Cloud is easily one of Square's worst leads. While everything that happens to him is interesting, he just isn't. I'd take Vincent, Cid, Barret and Tifa over lame o Cloud.

I agree, but it is no surprise that he is the most popular considering the success of FFVII.

It just stinks that really good characters, like Terra and Cecil, get forgotten. Heck, even Tidus is better than Cloud.

That some bad taste there. Surprised at lack of Balthier, Rinoa, and Tidus. Those are generally very popular characters. I've never seen Red XIII, Vincent, or Tifa on any of these lists before.
