I counted everyone that I passed on 90 or who passed me on 90 today and here are the results of people texting/talking on phone

20 out of 36 were occupied.

this is not counting the cars that were on the side of me in thick traffic or at red lights.

I see it on 90 everyday. It's an epidemic.

What section of 90?

Trying to determine if I was part of your research, and may be entitled to compensation.

How many were texting while stopped vs. texting while moving. I think there is a difference between these two.

I don't text and drive fwiw

I was one of them but I was posting here, not texting so take that from your numbers.

It is pretty bad. God help the person texting that runs into me... I hear all kinds of bs arguments that "I got everything under control" or "this is a free country, I can do what I want", blah blah blah. It is a free country but that doesn't give you the right to endanger others. Here's another project you can try, set your cruise at 5mph over the speed limit and count how often you're passed. Combine that with the number of people texting...

Definitely not. I think both the drivers and texters and the stopped and texters each cause a significant amount of issues though. When people are still waiting at a green light because they're looking at their lap it just means everyone else driving has to work to avoid them.

If I get caught texting and driving it's a 10K fine, and an automatic termination !

At least they didn't mention posting on here.

Does anyone else get 90 and 190 confused?

Why are there so many highways named 90

You can even admit the two aren't related.

Is there a definitive study that says higher speed limits leads to more accidents and fatalities? I highly doubt that's the case. Speed limits are more of a money grab. They weren't even created with safety in mind. They were created to combat an oil crisis.

But I do agree that texting and driving is extremely distracting and dangerous.

Who enforces that fine if you're no longer employed by the company? Genuinely Curious
