So, Ivan Drago was on steroids?

I always remembered his badass training and facilities, but completely forgot about the needle they stuck him with, which I can only assume is steroids or HGH.
Not sure why I don't remember that being so obvious, but I just caught the training montage on AMC and it's pretty clear.

They failed to mention to him that the fries at the snack bar in that training facility were cooked in peanut oil. They were simply remedying an allergic reaction. Nothing to see here folks, just move along.

i have done that type of training, and it will whip your arse, but rocky being virtuous compared to drago is the most absurd part of the entire franchise
and this is coming from someone who pretty much idolizes the films, especially the 4th installment

Somewhat of an irony that the plot element of the film regarding PED use is that it was looked down upon, yet both stars have a history of significant use IRL.

Yup. Been a while since I've actually seen the movie the whole way through...usually I just catch bits and pieces, or the final fight.
