“Obviously, they’re strapped for cash, ... and at my position they have some younger guys that have played some ball,” said Moore, who signed a two-season deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers in free agency and will now be replaced in New Orleans with second-year receiver Kenny Stills. “I’ve been around long enough. I get it.”

Moore continued, “It’s just kind of weird the way that I found out. ... I immediately called my agent (Dave Butz) and asked him what he had heard, and he hadn’t heard anything either, so that was kind of surprising to me at that time.

“(But) it kind of made sense. I wasn’t one of those that didn’t know about the (salary) cap and how strapped for cash they were, so I understand it.”

It almost comes across as a little bitter because of how realistic he is being.

I don't know if it's how it happened for him, but I can definitely understand how it would be really shitty to find out that you lost your job through the media, even if you do understand that it's just the business side of the league.

You know, I'm glad we're cutting older players to save money.

But I'm starting to think we could do better with how we're informing these players of that fact.

i wonder if that is the ex-Redskins D-lineman from the 80's.

sadly, i know that name from watching a ton of NFL Films.

Ok.

We can do that AND give the players a call before they find out from twitter.

It really all depends if they leaked the info intentionally. If I was a player, sure I'd like to know rather than be in the dark. Still, they're not obligated to tell you. They are obligated to pay the money guaranteed in your contract. You can say you feel bad for players, but that's what the money is for.

I'm sure you can tell me all about it from your badass days in High School before you "turned it all around."

I agree Hoodoo, but I don't think the Saints were intentionally leaking the info to the media

You gotta wonder how these leaks happen so damn much.

The NFL talks about confidentiality with stuff like the Wonderlic, but that never stays secret.
And they seem to do nothing about it.

Dont act like you know me. You dont know me. You don't know shite. You just sit on your high horse judging all the people thinking yourself above judgment. I've lived on the streets man. I've done things. I've seen things. I've been places. You dont know me. And you never will. Yeah, I've smoked crack. But i'm over that now. It's a big problem with my old friends. Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares? One less hungry mouth on the welfare.First ship them dope and let them deal to brothers. Give them guns, step back, and watch them kill each other. My father was an alcoholic. Mean frickin' drunk. Used to come home hammered, looking to whale on someone. So I had to provoke him, so he wouldn't go after my mother and little brother. Interesting nights were when he wore his rings. And I've had to bust my arse working 3 jobs at a time just to make ends meet. I gotta put food on the table for my 13 kids man. SO dont come in here acting like you know shite.

You know, l've read about people like you. You superachievers with impossible standards. Nothing's ever good enough. Nothing ever measures up. At first, I liked you as a poster. I thought you were a genuinely interesting poster. But eventually, it all wore thin. I realized that your personality was just one short punctuated uppity comment after another, a series of short enjoyable things, much like your sex life. So... you know how when you're walking by a group of people, and you hear them laughing, you sometimes get that paranod, self- conscious feeling that maybe they're laughing about you, when they're really not? Well in your case, they really are.

But in all honesty i can understand where you're coming from with Lance man. I got love for my brother, but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other. We gotta start making changes. Learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers. And that's how it's supposed to be.
