....caught fish around there lately? Everyone I talk to is scratching when they go out. Maybe none of my friends can fish.

I haven't heard many reports

It's not the season for Cypremort Point. The bay is receiving a growing supply of fresh water right now. Also, with the delay in the northern melt, I would expect the bay to have very low salinity well into summer this year. Go out south of Houma or farther east this time of year.

I heard of a few reds being caught along the banks of marsh island where you can find clean water. The trout however are a long ways away I'm afraid.

Earliest i have caught reds was in mid may. And that was on the west side

Went last weekend. Not much going.
Saw 3 guys haul in ~ 40 lb drum from the pier, but that's it.

I've gone a couple times and have scratched both times. Other's I've talked too have scratched too. The only ones I hear of that have caught has been in inland bayous.
I've tried The Worm, Bayou Chiene, Oyster Lake, the reefs on the backside, etc. The water has been generally bad everywhere.

Try the bayous on the northwest side of marsh island when the wind is out of the south or east. The biggest trick is finding clean water. Due to the river, the water will get worse before it gets better. The trout will simply be very hard to find until clean, salty water moves in. They will start to turn on at the near shore platforms around june and july, and will start to move into the bay in august through November.
That's just kind of how it works around here. Its easily the hardest place to fish in the state. However, the fish are there, and it can get very productive if you know what to look for.
