Ironically, they are exactly the kinds of candidates idiot liberals continue to say the GOP should put out there in order for the GOP to be competitive. Even more amazing is how much the idiots in the GOP continue to listen to the idiot libs.

That tells me the libs may not be the idiots here.

I'd be willing to bet there are many people that pulled a lever for Obama in 12 that now kick themselves in their arse for not pulling for Romney.

Seen more than a poll or two in the last few months that validates this.

Is it your theory that every candidate that loses does so because they are unelectable? Do you believe that Republicans would have won in 1996 and 2008, specifically, with a different candidate? Are you of the opinion that the runners up in 2012 - Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum - would have marched to victory?

As to the current hopefuls: there are many who are non-starters.

McCain
Romney
Huckabee
Gingrich
Ryan
Santorum
Jindal
Jeb Bush
Cruz
Walker

The only viable candidate the GOP has is Rand Paul. Will they realize it before it's too late?

Nailed it.

There's nothing extreme about the GOP.

I think any Republican other than Rand Paul will be weighted down by incessant media attacks. I don't believe they will be as successful going after Rand as they've been in the past with other GOP candidates.

That said, I desire to have Scott Walker pick up traction should he enter the race.

Never a good strategy to nominate a candidate simply because "it's his turn". The GOP has a bad tendency to do that.

Santorum. Nice, strong family guy with deep conservative values, may be too far to the right for the more centrist Republicans and Independents. That said, I'd love to see him as a Cabinet member should a Republican be elected, as I would Gingrich.

Actually because Cruz is willing to take the fight to the Democrats is the reason he is electable.

Romney was electable despite his Rino leaning if only he would have taken any kind of fight to Obama. Instead he let Obama define him in the battleground states.

If he takes any fight, the MSM labels him as a bully. I don't know how much he should be blamed for giving a sufficient campaign that fell on deaf ears - such is America.

Romney's mistake was steering too hard during the primaries to try and appease the social lunatics of his base and was subsequently skewered during the general election as leaning too far right and the MSM did its usual boogeyman spiele. He lost the ability to dictate that narrative despite the fact that in reality he is socially moderate.

As much as Republicans don't like to accept it, the moderates give them the best chances to win the Presidency. The Frothies of the world will doom them given the demographic landscape. They like pointing to the defeats of McCain and Romney as a sign that they need to swing harder right but don't seem to be open to the possibility that doing so could lead to larger massacres.

Scott Walker doesn't have a college degree. I am fairly confident that will hold him back in a presidential election regardless of how intelligent he may be.

It is still crazy to me that people actually criticize Romney's last campaign. He kicked Obama's arse in the debates and has basically been validated with current events. People just got caught up in the Obama deceptions.

I really don't see how Romney could have performed better. People just like to vote themselves free shite and that was exactly what Obama was selling with his words.

The fact Scott Walker may not have a college degree does not bother me at all.

Equating degrees of education to intelligence is a slippery slope.

Is an MBA smarter than a BA or PHD than MBA? or Two PHD's than one?

I know what you are saying but it just shows how flawed we are as a society with how we make decisions.

I agree and considering how he turned Wisconsin budget mess into a surplus and success despite endless attacks from the libs, he has the best actual experience resume than anyone besides Romney to be honest.
