At least to the current events Americans care about ... I think I'd have to say it is to my knowledge....

I mean I hear about shite on here way faster than I do through the regular channels... and if I hear about it through the regular channels first.. 99% of the time it's Germans on TD...

easily for louisiana.. I'd argue for the whole southeast pretty easily too. I mean obviously as you get away from the epicenter it thins out... but as a whole this place provides a shite ton of info at an amazing fast speed.

It would be hard to follow enough people on twitter and get the same amount of info from that as fast as you can from this site.

TD is pretty fast. i think of it as a filter from reddit. someone else reads reddit and posts the most interesting stuff here.

second, third or fourth had info on the internet is still pretty fast access.

TD is just as fast and you don't need a cryptology degree to figure out what's trying to be said. #confused :#twittermakesnosense #chickenrules

I agree with this and the post that called TD a filter from other sites. That's a pretty good analysis.
When I hear of some current event that might be unfolding I come here first. I can usually find a thread for it and get links to other sources.
It's hard to beat for that.

Were by and large a pretty tight fit demographic. Bunch of white southern men, main variance is age. So filtering the rest of the web is pretty powerful effect. Also good for advertising muhahahaha

Not the best overall source, but the rate at which local and regional news (sports, biz, politics, crime, etc) hits the boards is astonishing at times. It's definitely come a long way over the years.

Does anyone have TD's web data as far as page views, unique visits, etc goes? I think Chicken mentioned them a while back, and the numbers were really impressive.
