Brad Binder says it only took him about five minutes to fill out his bracket for the 2014 NCAA Tournament. He may spend a lifetime regretting not taking an extra few seconds to sign up for the $1 billion perfect bracket challenge dreamed up by Warren Buffet.

quote:

After a predictably unpredictable Round of 64 busted all of the brackets in the Quicken Loans Billion Dollar Bracket challenge at Yahoo Sports as well as those filled out in ESPN's Tournament Challenge and at CBSSports.com by Friday night, "Brad's Breathtaking Bracket" remained flawless. Unfortunately, the 23-year-old who submitted it in the regular Yahoo Sports' Tourney Pick'em pool did not enter the contest with the biggest prize.

Doesn't matter, there's no chance he'll finish with a perfect bracket.

But if you could stay perfect through the first weekend, you could go to Vegas and bet big against your picks in the last 15 games to win a little something for your effort.

$1 billion is a lot of play money to hedge.

I may be wrong, but you could still easily end up losing money that way.

Why are we still talking about this like there's even a chance in hell his bracket stays perfect?

Cool to be the only guy left with a perfect bracket, but irrelevant that he didn't enter the contest.

Wait a second. If he did it right how much could he make? Would he just bet the money line against his picks, and make millions?!

He has to remain perfect throughout the entire tournament. Trying to hedge major money w/ 15 left would likely cost him a shite ton of $$$.

No. Not at all

He would still have to win over half of the games he bet with Vegas to come out positive. And if that happened he would have lost the billion dollar bracket anyway

The only way to guarantee yourself money would be to hedge the championship game

There's no way Iowa State makes it to the Elite Eight.

No way he could start hedging with 15 games left.
