How likely is it that Texas eventually turns blue?

If Texas turns blue than the GOP will never win the white house again, with the exception if there is the second coming of regan vs someone worse than Gore or Kerry ran for the Dems.

I'm sure will happen sometime, but at the same time there are blue states that will eventuaLly go red. States will change as people an demographics shift, but no party has ever had indefinite control since the country gained independence, and it never will. Minds will change, parties will adapt, it will stay split right down the middle

I'm still waiting on the repubs to adapt.
If they would have reached out in some way to the hispanic population 10-15 years ago, I think we would as a party be in much better shape in many states.

Why I get the feeling that posters in this thread are non texans? Hell, Texas was blue as late as the late 80s and had Ann Richards in the early 90s. Ted Cruz is senator, while Cali has two old white women.

Who knows..

but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Romney won Texas by 1.2 million votes.

Not a question of if, it's a question of when

Only a matter of time before TX turns blue and is destroyed economically.

I say within 15 years, easily. If we grant amnesty, it will be within 10. Add the Lefties that are moving there in droves after destroying the economies of the states they are moving from, you have an inevitable recipe for disaster.

Bye Bye Texas!

Yes.

Trying to boil down economic issues to a simple left vs right debate, especially when you're placing all the blame on one side, is intellectually lazy at best.

Probably.
Texas is fcking booming and the reasons it is aren't going to change anytime soon just because of your fear of the brown people coming in.

I'm not for opening the border wide open to any and everyone, but whatever measure that "may" pass to give some amnesty sure and shite isn't going to ruin the state. Having new people to pay taxes and provide the cheap labor the industies need might not even be a bad thing.

Ok.

Yet even one of the top board libs agrees with me.

My fear of brown people? Really? Like the area I currently live in where I'm surrounded by "brown people"?

How stupid are you?

Solid point. Blue states are a model for economic and budgetary responsibility.

Hmmmmm

I was cheap labor at one point of my life. I sure as shite wasn't paying much in taxes. In fact, I got a nice "fat" check at the end of year, and qualified for many government benefits that I didn't accept. I'm sure all of these new citizens will do the same.

You need to hurry up and play the race card again.

Whatever. Your fear of the state turning into some shithole is overblown. Texas could be it's own very healthy country if it wanted to. Nobody is going to come in and wave the liberal tard maker magic wand and turn the state to hell.

Not happening in the foreseeable future. Democrats get killed in virtually every state wide race. This gets rehashed seemingly biweekly on here, no reason to repeat myself further.

You do that plenty, but whatever. Consider California's businesses moving to Texas due to high taxes and over-regulation. Is that ALL on the left? No, probably not. But I gotta say, at its current rate, we should expect at least part of cali to turn red. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.

democrats are multiplying 10 to 1 to repubs. I see most states turning blue within about 50 years.

we will just have to deal with it.

If illegals keep pouring across the border and the Feds keep pushing for voter fraud, Texas will be a blue state soon. Maybe 2020.

Consider the economic collapse was set up in the first place by those burdensome regulations of Glass-Stegall being repealed in the 90's
