FB's Mock 1.0: Drafting by need only, omg who cares

I usually hate these team only mocks that people pump out. They are never even remotely accurate. However, I look at it as an exercise to learn about players that MAY be available when we pick and that we MAY have some interest in.
We all know the Saints just aren't big "need" drafters, but instead like to follow a tier formula where BPAs are placed in tiers, with need being one consideration.
Anyway, here is my version, strictly based on need and who may be available. In short, this is my fantasy or "fap" draft. I've included links to all profiles.
1) Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State
2) Marcus Martin, OC, USC
3) Stanley Jean-Baptiste, CB, Nebraska
4) James Gayle, OLB/DE, Va Tech
5) Kenny Ladler, FS, Vanderbilt
5) Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton
6) Justin Britt, OT, Missouri
Thoughts? I would really like to have picked up another "weapon", at RB/WR, but I couldn't make one fit.

Will Jean-Baptiste still be there in the third? If so, looks solid.
Round 5 or 6 could def be another WR/CB/RB

I think he goes before our pick, to be honest. But he's a 3rd round grade, so, for purposes of this, I'm throwing him in there.
It really is too hard to tell. Guys go up and down the boards for all kinds of reasons. Once you get past Round 2, it starts to be all over the place as to where these guys go.

I feel like De'Anthony Thomas has to be in there somewhere...

That's not necessarily true. The Saints have drafted based on need in the first or second round and BPA in later rounds. In 2007 or 08 we needed a DT, we took Ellis. We let Grant go and needed a DE so we took Cam Jordan. PT had neck surgery and Bush was in his last year of his contract so we traded up to get Ingram.

I'm kind of hoping we get Jean-Baptiste or Keith McGill in the mid rounds if possible.
I definitely think they could be there for us in the 2nd round but I'm not so sure after that. That's just a guess of course. I haven't read all that many mocks so far. Instead, I've gotten on a roll with that draft simulator thing and have messed with it A TON.
gotta figure teams were taking notes on the Seahawks in the playoffs (or regular season) whatever and saw how well things went for them with those taller corners.
that's why i'm kind of skeptic if they'd be there still in the 3rd round. But that would be great if they were.

...looks really good to me.
I love the first two picks in Cooks and Martin -- probably my top two choices for those picks if they're available.
I like Baptiste in the third too, and I like the idea of getting one of the interesting CBs in the 2-4 rounds -- Baptiste, McGill, Desir, Gaines, etc.

Im not a Mcgill fan. He seems soft and not very aggressive. Yea he is tall but if we re gunna go with someone like Mcgill Id prefer Desir.

have you ever seen him play? I remember watching Utah-UCLA some. and i saw Utah play oregon state too.
Cooks ripped Utah a new one but i don't if McGill was covering him much in that game.
