By notching the 10th win of the 2013-14 season against Iowa in the Capital One Bowl, LSU secured its fourth consecutive 10-win season -- the first time in program history we've had four straight 10-win seasons -- 2010 (11-2), 2011 (13-1), 2012 (10-3), 2013 (10-3).

The streak surpassed the previous record of three 10-win seasons, set from the 2005-06 season through 2007-08.

Both streaks set under Les Miles

It's a great time to be a Tiger. Here's hoping for another 10-win season next year.

Helps to have 13-14 game seasons rather than the historical 10 or 11 (and sometimes 12 if we made a bowl).

Good stat though - shows the consistency we're having under Miles.

And for the "he only wins that much because of the rent a wins!"

Yeah he does get some cupcakes but if you take away his easy wins, take away everyone else's as well. If you do that guess what, Miles still has a better record than 90% of college football.

Unless of course some of you miserable ppl want LSU to not have cupcake games while other programs keep them, but you'd probably complain then too.

That's an awesome streak and couldn't have happened if we didn't have one of the best in Les. Funny thinking that lsu was just a couple of plays away from 4 consecutive 11 win seasons, but hey thats one of the reasons I love college football. Every play matters.

Also, over that time period, LSU played one of the toughest schedules in the nation.

Nice, kinda tainted though.....playing 13 games a year instead of 11 makes it easier.

Also, 5 or 6 sec teams win 10 games a year......so good, but not great

I guess the La.Lafayette dude speaks of easy schedules, I guess he doesn't keep up with the GUMPS.Pussy schedule the last 3 years. Also has the easiest schedule in the SEC this year again! Penis envy!

That statement is more than a little misleading. Let's analyze it just a bit.

LSU currently plays a 12-game regular season. LSU plays a 13-game season when it plays a bowl game.

Charlie McClendon had some 12-game seasons. In fact, he coached seven 12-game seasons. Charlie never had a 10-win season.

If you flip it and look at losses (thereby ignoring Miles' extra wins), Miles looks like the best coach LSU has ever had.

Charlie McClendon coached LSU for 18 seasons. Miles has coached LSU for half that at 9 seasons. Nevertheless, Charlie had one team with one loss and no ties. Miles had one team with one loss and no ties. (For the record, Saban had one team with one loss and no ties.)

Charlie had two teams better than or equal to two losses and no ties. Miles has had five teams better than or equal to two losses and no ties.(For the record, Saban had just the one team better than or equal to two losses and no ties.)

Moreover, if you just count losses and ties (ignoring the extra wins that Miles has), Miles has five of the top ten teams in the fifty+ years since Charlie started coaching.

1 reason for Miles high total is his remarkable success vs non-SEC teams. No, they weren't all vs FCS teams or FBS bottom-feeders. His record vs the PAC 10/12= 5-0, 2-0 vs Big 12 & 4-1 vs the ACC. In '07, his team beat the ACC & Big 10 champs. In '11, LSU beat both the PAC 12 & Big East champs away from home. His record in outside bowls vs non-SEC is 5-2. He's not perfect but the fact teams play 12 reg season games now shouldn't detract from his accomplishment.

Everyone plays that many games these days. Besides, back then we were only playing what? 6 sec games? No conference championship. So while some people say oh well we play more games so it is easier to get to ten wins. In reality to get to 14 games you would have to win more sec games then in previous years. Not win more against cupcakes.
