What do you all think the essays will be? I'm assuming 1 will definitely be about D-Day.

Man, I hated that--you could usually mathematically eliminate one or two essay topics. Freaking mind games were worse than studying.

I know it sucks

Its the worst when you waste time studying material that is not on the test.

Oh the horror of taking something away from the class that you were not "required" to.

More Americans died as captives of the Japanese than were killed in the first 10 days of the D-Day invasion.

There will be a question about the Bataan Death March on the test.

Good luck!

I hated the tests even though I enjoyed the classes. You had to read hundreds upon hundreds of pages and yet be able to identify a singular sentence from anywhere in the reading and identify the context, year, location, who is involved, etc.

And that part I always managed to get through, but I had one History professor mark off for grammar.. INCORRECTLY. Like, she'd scratch out a word and write a synonym for it as the "correction" and then take off a point... or she'd incorrectly change something (like a comma) that did not need to be changed.

I'm an English major making A's in much higher level English courses, lady. Stick to grading the required material.

Grading history tests can be VERY subjective. That's the only thing I really dislike about History.

I can bullshite pretty well so history essays were right up my alley.

All you have to do is learn a badass story and get the names and dates right. Not that hard.

That's exactly it. I took 3 history courses at LSU. The first two I did very well in because once you figure out how the tests are set up, you're golden.. but my 3rd course was this teacher who got off on being "hard." Little 5ft woman who was super stern. I loved the material and wrote my heart out just like I did in the previous two courses.

She started taking off points for made-up grammar mistakes when I got the hang of the material, and it had me livid.

I'd call my mom every few weeks after a paper/test: "MOM! SHE DID IT AGAIN! A "C" ON A PAPER WITH MOSTLY ACCURATE INFORMATION.. BUT SHE SURE SCRATCHED OUT "QUARREL" AND MADE IT "FIGHT""

Killed me!
