18 Southwood High School seniors have been suspended and could be expelled, accused of electronically altering their grades online.

Caddo Parish Schools spokesperson Victor Mainiero says administrators at Southwood determined on March 14 that the seniors accessed the 'E 20/20' platform, an online course study system, and manipulated their grades.

Mainiero wouldn't say how the students accessed the system.

In the video in the link the reporter says something along the lines of "Ferris Bueller got away with it...these kids won't."

Captain Shreve students would have gotten daddy to pay someone to hack the system for them.

The kid who was technically proficient enough to do it should be given a free pass. Everyone else treated as cheaters.

Obviously smart enough to graduate high school if you ask me.

their mistake was not including the most important members of next years football team in the great grade change caper.

probably woudl have gotten away with it if they had done that

I'm pretty sure this has been argued about on here before... The movie was "War Games", not Ferris Bueller.

Matthew Broderick played in both. In Ferris Bueller he changed his number of absences, not his grades. It was a nod to his earlier role in the movie War Games where he in fact stole the password "pencil" and changed his grades.

I'm pretty sure if they can hack it to change their grades, they can hack it to "expunge" the expulsion.

That's because they probably did not "hack" it. More than likely, they acquired the password from a dumb teacher who wrote it down on a post-it and stuck it to her monitor, or in some similar manner.

When I was in high school, my computer/typing class (or whatever it was called) teacher gave me the password for the software that controls all of the student computer internet filters and admin settings, because something on my specific computer needed to be fixed and she didn't know how/was too lazy to do it.
